Hythe Beach

Hythe, Kent

Known as the Key to England, Dover Castle has served as the nation’s first line of defence for 20 centuries.  Located only 20 mins from our hotel, step into the world of the King’s Court, and meet your guides in the form of lifelike projected figures and costumed characters.

The beach at Hythe is supported by a promenade, around two miles in length, which is used by cyclists and pedestrians passing by. There are several outlets and stands selling ice-creams, food and beverages here and plenty of benches to sit and unwind along the promenade.

On clear days, it is possible to see the distant shores of France across the Channel.

The beach is also a popular spot for fishing. There are plenty of parking places to be found along the promenade.

Hythe Beach garners a quaint, somewhat calm atmosphere with the small town behind the beach not seeing the usual seaside development that might be said to blight so many similar coastal towns. This is not a beach with noisy arcades or shops selling tacky holiday wares, but it is an ideal seaside location for those wanting to take in the sea air away from the hustle and bustle of some of the busier resorts.
